Complete transparency, dataset by dataset — source, update cadence, processing, and coverage. Every row additionally carries its own source URL and verified date.
Council tax bands & charges
Source: Each council's own published council tax pages (350 billing authorities)
Updates: Annual collection + monthly rotating re-verification (~1/8 of councils)
Processing: Two-pass verification; arithmetic checks against statutory band ratios; unverifiable records flagged, never estimated
Coverage: England (296) · Scotland (32, council tax element only — water excluded) · Wales (22, bands A–I)

One row per council: name, nation, bands A–H (A–I for Wales), Band D headline, year-on-year change where published, what the figure includes, source URL, source title, verified date and status. Records still awaiting verification are flagged, not omitted — see why. Explore before downloading with the rankings or band checker.
